Plating that is done without the use of electric current for deposition of metal is called ELECTROLESS PLATING. Sometimes due to various reasons the electroplating of the article may not be possible. These times the article is plated without using electric current and thus is termed electroless. Generally the electroless deposits are semi bright to dull but posses specific physical properties like hardness, ductility etc.
